About

Hello, I’m Courtney Hansen, Dogs Best Friend, with my dogs Singha,  a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Great Pyrenees, and Nikiski,  a Bernese Mountain Dog/Rednose Pitbull. I grew up in the great state of Utah and when I was young, I always dreamed of coming up to Alaska to observe bears in their natural habitat. When I first arrived in Alaska I spent my first couple of summers working on the scenic Alaska Railroad; first as a dishwasher, a bartender, and a tour guide; I finally made the decision to move up here for good in 2006 and have called this beautiful state my home ever since.

I have been surrounded by animals my whole life, ranging from dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, lizards, snakes, and birds. Dogs, however, have always gravitated towards me, and me to them. I have over 7  years of full time experience as a dog walker here in Anchorage. With thousands of hours walking around the city, parks and trails, and hundreds of new and old canine friends, there are no dogs too big or too little for me.

I’ve always wanted to give something back to our community and contribute in some way. Offering a dog walking service for all the dog lovers who would do anything for their best friends–especially when they can’t be with them as much as they might like, is something that has brought me immeasurable fulfillment.

Dogs Best Friend is a licensed, bonded, and insured limited liability company, and as a proud member of Pet Sitters International and the Business Insurers of the Carolinas, I am happy to continue offering high-quality canine care to all of you!

Thank you very much for the great opportunity to do so!
